Eagles' Odds, Ends, and Reminders

  • Secret Santa: Don't forget that this is the last week of Secret Santa gift giving. The Secret Santa reveal will be this Thursday, 12/17 at 3:45 after school in the media center.
  • Affidavits: If you haven't already, please make sure you've personally contacted the parents who have not yet returned their affidavits by Tuesday. Let them know we can provide another copy if needed and that there are staff members in our offices who can notarize them at no cost to the family. Let us know of any issues.
  • Suicide Prevention Awareness Training: Required Suicide Prevention Training, 3:45 in the media center (led by our counselors). This will be recorded if you are coaching or sponsoring a club. All should be in attendance if not; it's required by our district.
  • Ugly Christmas Sweater Competition: Back by popular demand - pull out your most hideous, outrageous, embarrassing, holiday sweater (the tackier, the better) to wear with jeans on Friday. Staff will vote for the tackiest, and the lucky winner will received a prize! We've had tough competition in years past: Mr. Durden (and his red pants and elf's hat), Dr. Betts, (and his women's stretch pants), Mrs. Benton (and her Justin Beiber hat). If you'd like to stroll down memory lane, check a few from last year out here: https://www.smore.com/44z9j.
  • Late Bus Supervision: If you are responsible for coordinating late bus supervision during your assigned week, please plan ahead and make sure everyone on your supervision team knows the day he/she is responsible for and choose a location for students. Most days we will not need anyone for a late bus, but we do have occasional times when there is no driver and students are on a second load. The front office will call the coordinator as soon as the school is contacted about the late bus, and will alert the leader. Please let Johanna or Kyna know where the students should report. Teachers can tag team or take individual days. Again, most days it's not needed.
  • Tech Tuesdays: Tech training will not meet this Tuesday but will continue after the break. Thanks so much to Kirsten for organizing and leading these sessions and to Michelle and Phillip for teaching sessions as well.
  • TKES Formative Assessments: We are finishing this week, and you'll be done! YAY! Please wait for your evaluator to give you the okay to sign off on your formative and your conference.

Remember Our Goal: Connect with Five Students Daily

Connect with 5 students (include staff too) who add value by being in your life. Let them know how they make a positive difference in this world. Get to know their stories. Any random act of kindness goes a long way and makes an immediate impact. Kindness is contagious. By modeling this daily, we will begin to see a culture shift with our students. Exiting year to be an EAGLE. Together we're going to do great things!

“Wherever there is a human in need, there is an opportunity for kindness and to make a difference.”
