SCS ANNUAL REPORT
Earlier this summer, an Annual Report was mailed to the Strongsville community. This report detailed examples of the accomplishments of our District, as it relates to our three goals: Academic Achievement & Growth, Financial Prudence, and Community Engagement. If you missed this publication, an electronic version may be found HERE.
UPDATE ON ENROLLMENT FOR CHILDREN OF SCS STAFF
At their August 3rd meeting, Strongsville’s Board of Education voted to allow the enrollment of students of non-resident SCS District full time employees. As part of the August 3rd presentation, it was stated that our District would be receiving an additional $6,000 in state funding for each student. It has since been discovered that there is a separate provision in the revised code which excludes these students from receiving the full $6,000, yet rather funds them as a resident student. Although the District will not be receiving additional funds for these students, this policy change does not cost the District any additional expenses, as these students are filling open seats in classrooms. The Board is pleased to offer this benefit to our employees. As of the August 9th deadline, SCS has accepted 5 students of SCS full time employees into our District, and are thrilled to welcome them to Strongsville City Schools.
