Anecdotes

Definition- a short and amusing or interesting story about a real incident or person.

You would use an anecdote to smooth into the reason of your story. Also it lets your listeners get accustomed to what the story would be about.

Metaphor

definition- a figure of speech that identifies something as being the same as some unrelated thing for rhetorical effect, thus highlighting the similarities between the two, not using like or as.

You would use a metaphor to compare two things in a story.

Example: The boy was a cheetah on the track.

Images

You would use pictures to show something that is hard to say in words.

What NOT to do with images in a story?

Lets say your story is about Victorian London Child Labor.

Comparison

When two or more things are compared to each other.
