Executive Branch
Its not just the president though, the vice president/cabinet helps the president. The president is very busy, as he signs legislation (or veto's it), enforce an implement laws, and does diplomacy's with other nations/country's (makes promises/deals with other nations/country's). The president is also the commander in chief of our military.
To be in the presidential elections, you must be at least a 35 year old man who was born in the U.S and lived in the U.S for 13 years. The president is elected and the cabinet is hired or appointed.
Legislative Branch

- House of Representatives
The job(s) of the legislative branch are to write laws, declare wars, and approve presidential appointments/hires.
The senate has 100 members (2 every state, as 2x50=100). You must be at least 30 years old and live in your state for 9 years.
The House of Representatives has 435 members based on the population of the states. You must be at least 25 years old and you must be a resident of your state for 7 years.
Congress is elected like the president.
