Captain's Log
We still need representatives for CDMC, especially teachers. You will receive extra duty for your participation. Email Mrs. Helton to sign up.
Don't forget preparations for our campus visit on September 10 by special guests and new teachers. Hallway bulletin boards should be ready with student work by Friday, September 6. You will also need to assign a "greeter" for each period that will greet guests and share with them the objective/focus for the lesson.
Conscious Discipline & CHAMPS
Our focus for the month of September in Morning Meetings will be RESPECT. Lesson plans are here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1CKGLd2hn8dPg2xRt1t3awHEEbzsZ7uApYstsxw2me1w/edit?usp=sharing
Required activities for the month are the cards for troops on September 11, and starting our year-long kindness challenge on September 16 (with Kindness "Tree").
All things related to behavior, including CHAMPS templates and our behavior management plan can be found in the "Behavior" folder on the Alta Vista School House in Google Drive.
Tribal News
To enter points, fill out this short form: https://forms.gle/kZS51dT5dskoJ8bC9
Other ways that tribes can earn points: cafeteria behavior, specials behavior, perfect attendance (weekly and six weeks), pop-up games, receiving Anchored in Excellence Notes, sending Ms. Koenig pictures to post on Facebook, letting Ms. Koenig know when you post to your classroom FB page (if you have one), Box Tops (check out the new app-just email Ms. Koenig with how many you enter), and more! Each grade level can select a way for students to earn tribe points academically, like mastering sight words or facts or academic growth.
Our first TRIBE BUDDY DAY will be on Friday, September 13. You will pair up with another class from your tribe. We will be celebrating National Comic Book Day, so you and students can wear your favorite comic book character tshirt.
Data Wall
You can add it to your Google Drive.
If you see something that needs editing, please let Mrs. Helton know.
