Week 6 Term 3 SFDS Newsletter

St Francis de Sales - 31 August 2021

TRACY'S MESSAGE

Kia Ora Ano

I hope that you are all safe and healthy in your bubbles.

It has certainty been an entertaining experience being part of the class google meets. I think that our staff could write a wee memo about the funniest things that learners say and share…

One amazing learner created the most fascinating documentary on stick insects and today I heard about how a family pet fish had 20 babies and then ate one!

Tomorrow as we enter level 3 we have some of our amazing staff who are heading back into class bubbles.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to say a massive thanks to Bev, Sarah, Tamanda, Lucy and Jemma for joining me in supporting our level 3 learners.

Have a lovely rest of the week and take care.

DRS MESSAGE

**************************************************************************

Blessed is he who loves and does not therefore desire to be loved;

Blessed is he who fears and does not therefore desire to be feared;

Blessed is he who serves and does not therefore desire to be served;

Blessed is he who behaves well toward others and does not desire that others behave well toward him;

And because these are great things, the foolish do not rise to them.

**********************************************************************

Lord Jesus, give us the grace to hear your voice,

And the strength to continue working for your kingdom in this time of pandemic.

Do not allow us to be indifferent to those who today suffer the loss of a loved one, or who suffer from the absence of work.

But give us the courage to accompany and side with those who suffer violence or injustice. Amen.

Te Reo word/phrase of the week : Kia atawhai: Be kind

SARAH'S MESSAGE

Unfortunately due to the current lockdown situation, the Southern Zone Swimming organisers have decided to cancel this event. The opening of the pool is likely to be delayed and the uncertainty of the COVID levels made the event difficult to plan for as we need to be in level one for the event to go ahead. I know this will be extremely disappointing for those who were going to be participating. At least we were able to have our school event!
