Help Project Grauation!
Exciting plans are under way for Project Graduation 2016. Project Graduation is a safe and substance free celebration held the evening of each school’s graduation ceremony. This is the 6th year for Bryan Collegiate High School to put on a Project Graduation celebration. This overnight event was started by concerned parents with enthusiastic support from our teachers and administrators as well as the Bryan-College Station community.
How can you help? You can help provide the food, drink, entertainment and/or prizes needed to make this event successful. We are asking businesses, clubs, service organizations and individuals to help by donating:
- Financial contributions
- In-kind services or items a graduating student would like to win
ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE AND
WILL BE ACKNOWLEDGED IN THE NEWSPAPER AFTER THE EVENT
Click here to access more donation information and the donation form. We greatly appreciate all support!
BCHS PTSO!
Thanks to everyone who supported the 2016 Garage Sale. We made approximately $3200 that will be used towards Prom and Project Graduation. It was so exciting to see how parents, students and teachers came together to make this year's garage sale a huge success. Everyone worked hard, but as you can see from the photos the students had fun. Some students were creative and modeled some of the items. We have a dedicated bunch of people at BCHS!!

Farid Abarca wins DAR Good Citizens Award!
The DAR Good Citizens Award and Scholarship Contest, created in 1934, is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship. This award recognizes and rewards individuals who possess the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism in their homes, schools, and communities. BCHS Senior Farid Abarca was selected by his teachers because his teachers believed that he demonstrates these qualities to an outstanding degree. Farid participated in the local DAR Essay contest of which he competed against other area high school seniors.
On March 24th during the recognition ceremony, Farid read his essay and was named the winner of the local William Scott DAR Chapter. He was awarded a monetary prize, a winning certificate and a lapel pin. Farid's essay will now be submitted for judging on the state level. Each state winner is judged on the divisional level and the divisional winners move on to the national level, where the winner is announced. The national winner is invited to read their winning essay at the National Columbus Day celebration in Washington, D.C
Congrats Farid!
Congratulations Farid!

Facing Forward Field Trip!
On April 8, 2016 Mrs. Ceaser accompanied 18 sophomores to the Facing Forward Conference on the campus of TAMU facilitated by Aggie Fish Club staff. The Facing Forward Conference is offered to high school students to promote the benefits and attainability of a college education. Often students feel that college is not within reach; due to not having the proper financial resources or that they just are not the “right” type of student for a 4 year university. The aim is to endorse higher education as a tangible goal, regardless of financial or socioeconomic background and to inspire in young minds the courage and self-confidence necessary to pursue their individual academic ambitions. Aggie Fish Club believes that everyone should have the opportunity to be informed of all available options for personal achievement and consider higher education the gateway to a brighter future.
The day consisted of inspirational speakers, financial aide information, walking campus tour and an all you can eat lunch at the major dining facility, Sbisa. The day ended with a student panel where the high school students in attendance could ask questions. The students thoroughly enjoyed themselves and I look forward to taking a new group next year.

BCHS helps run Texas Trash Off
On Saturday, April 9th, 11 students from Bryan Collegiate helped organize and run Texas Trash Off for Keep Brazos Beautiful. Texas Trash Off is a community wide event where teams go out and clean up parks, schools, and other public places at the same time. Then the teams meet up at the Brazos Center for a celebration of cleaning up the community and to report how much trash was collected. BCHS had one trash pickup team that was sent out to collect litter, led by Mrs. Anthony. The BCHS leadership crew at the Brazos Center was there to assist with checking in teams, hand out tickets for door prizes, and help KBB with anything they needed. The event was a huge success, and Miss Fields would like to recognize the following students for helping run this event:
DJ Lee
Devin Coleman
Warner Collier
Clay White
Becca Velez
Alysa Hernandez
