Staff Spotlight - Nicole Holta- Curriculum Coordinator
Nicole is from Lafayette, Louisiana and has called Anchorage home since 1999. She is in her 15th year with the Anchorage School District and is happy to call Family Partnership home. Nicole serves as our Curriculum Coordinator. She loves the opportunity to review all the Pre-Approval forms, new curriculum, and learn about innovative things in education. She credits Family Partnership for the opportunity to diversify her journey as an educator in this specialized homeschool model. She has two daughters and her family loves hiking, sledding, cross country skiing, and visiting the many great parks in Anchorage. Her dream job is running the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disney World. She's a big fan of jazz and chocolate! Nicole is also the Battle of the Books sponsor and manages SAT, PSAT, and AP exams. We so appreciate all Nicole does for our school and our families!
Student Spotlight - Rachel Bundy
Rachel Bundy is one of Family Partnership's UA Scholars! This is a major accomplishment. Rachel is a senior at Family Partnership. She joined the school during the infamous Covid days, and found that she liked having a bit more flexibility with her schedule instead of attending only her neighborhood school, Chugiak High. She has been able to attend classes at home, classes through homeschool groups, classes at Chugiak High, as well as taking advantage of some college classes with UAF. When Rachel isn't doing her academics, you can most often find her with a book in hand (typically an ebook on her phone), however she has also been on the Chugiak High tennis team for 9th-12th grades and the bowling team for 10th -12th grades. She is a loyal friend, and while she isn't one who is boisterous or often loud, she likes to have fun.
After Rachel graduates from high school in the spring, she plans to attend classes for a year at one of the University of Alaska schools, utilizing her UA Scholars award and hopefully the Alaska Performance Scholarship when all the boxes are checked! Following that year, she plans to serve an 18 month mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When she returns home from her mission, she then plans to pursue accounting. She is not 100% sure where that will be yet, but likely out of state.
