Claysburg-Kimmel Weekly Update
February 5, 2021
REMINDER: NO SCHOOL Friday Feb. 12th or Monday Feb 15th
-- Scheduled Presidents' Day Break
Plans to Return More Students
Dear CK Community:
As we continue through this difficult time of switching between face to face instructions and virtual learning, we appreciate your patience as we try to return to normal as quickly and as safely as possible.
We are continuing the process of moving small groups from hybrid learning to 100% full face to face learning. We slowed down slightly from our original plan.
Starting Monday, February 8th,
Students in grades 7 & 8 will shift to 5 days per week face to face instruction.
(See chart below)
An increase in cases and/or school closures could alter this timeline. As with everything this year, these dates and grades are subject to change.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to your child's building principal.
The school mandates listed below will remain in place until we are no longer deemed "substantial" by the DOH. It is extremely important that parents have contingency plans ready in the event one of our buildings is forced to shift back to virtual instruction.
Please monitor our Covid Dashboard for updated counts for each buidling at:

Return to School Mandates
School Districts must operate under the following guidelines:
- The Updated Order of the Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Health Requiring Universal Face Coverings, including necessary exceptions and associated guidance, and
- The Rules for Pre-K to 12 Schools Following Identification of a Case(s) of COVID-19.
School Closures Targets Following a Case of COVID-19 Within a14-Day Rolling Period
-2-4 students/staff in the same school building identified
- Close school for 3-7 days
-5+ students/staff in the same school building identified
- Close school for 14 days
Snow Days - Ugh!
This year, we have the option of delaying, or cancelling and using a virtual day. We understand what an inconvenience this is to parents, and weather permitting, we will try to give you as much information as possible, and an ample amount of time to make alternate arrangements.
