Recent KCSD Honors
Camden High Assistant Principal Lesley Corner has been selected for the SC ASCD's (Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development) Emerging Leaders Class of 2018. The South Carolina Emerging Leader Program is comprised of an accomplished group of educators, generally with 5–15 years of experience, who desire to become more involved in the state's educational community.
For the fourth time in five years, North Central High School was ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best high schools in the nation. NCHS received a bronze award and was one of only 59 SC high schools recognized.
The James Leroy Belk American Legion Post 17 recognized Kershaw County School District Superintendent Dr. Frank Morgan for his support of the Legion's programs and activities during his tenure as superintendent.
KCSD honored for energy savings
The Kershaw County School District was honored by the SC Office of Regulatory Staff for reducing its energy consumption by 20 percent from 2008. Operations Administrative Assistant Emily Laffin accepted the Energy Milestone Achievement Award.
30th anniversary of Junior Leadership Program
This year's Junior Leadership Kershaw County class marked the 30th year for the program. As part of their studies, students visited the State House and joined Sen. Vincent Sheheen, Sen. Thomas McElveen and Rep. Laurie Funderburk on the steps.
8th grade expo
Over 200 Kershaw County Middle School Students were introduced to manufacturing and trade careers during the county’s first 8th Grade Manufacturing Expo on Friday, April 27. The inaugural event was hosted by KCSD, the South Carolina Department of Commerce, and the Kershaw County Economic Development Office.
