If your child is in close contact (unmasked) with a positive student, parents will be called to quarantine their child (i.e., keep them home). If two (or more students) are unmasked for more than 15 minutes per day, they are considered a "close contact".
COVID Testing - REMEMBER: if any member of your family is tested- please make sure you keep your students home until the test results have been received. Please share the results with the school. Thank you for continuing to keep us up-to-date.
DROP OFF REMINDERS:
If you drop off your child or children at school, we ask that you be kind and patient to others in the drop off loop. If the loop gets congested, you can pull to the tennis court for extra parking and drop off space.
Reminders for the drop off loop:
- Have your child ready to get out of the car once you are stopped. Have their backpack and device beside them, so they can exit the car as quickly as possible..
- All children being dropped off in the loop should get out on the passenger side door.
- Adults are to ALWAYS remain in the vehicle.
- If your child needs assistance in dressing or gathering their belongings, please park in the parking lot to assist them. Fast drop offs keeps the drop off line flowing.
- The north loop is for buses and daycares only, not for parent drop off or parent pick up.
- Parents picking up Kindergarten & 1st grade students please park on the south side of 44th Ave ONLY for the safety of your children. We do not want them crossing the street to get into your cars.
- Pull up as far as you are able.
- Be courteous to staff and others while dropping off - they are they are they to assist with the safety of dropping off and picking up of of your child/ren.
Thank you for your cooperation and showing other's empathy and kindness. We look forward to having everyone back in the building together!
End of Day Pick-Up
We are staggering dismissal times to prevent congregating. Classes dismiss starting at 2:25 and the last class dismisses at 2:32. K & 1 parents: you are encouraged to park in the north staff lot to pick up children.

Book Fair May 3 - 7
I have some great news! We are going to have an in-person Book Fair May 3 – 7!
It will look different just as everything else during this school year has looked different. 😊 More details will be coming soon, but here are a few things we know now.
- Your class will visit the book fair during your regularly scheduled library day. (Day 1 – Monday, Day 2 – Tuesday, Day 3 – Wednesday, Day 4 – Thursday, Day 5 – Friday)
- The cases arrive April 30.
- No parents will be helping in school.
- It will be a Cash-Less Fair. Parents will need to setup an e-wallet for their student. Go to https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bookfairs/cptoolkit/homepage.do?method=homepage&url=kennedyelementaryschool28 to set up your eWallet. This is the only way your child will be able to purchase at the Book Fair.
- The virtual Book Fair is still an option.
Mark the dates your calendar if you need additional help please call the office at 44-4200. 😊

National PTA School of Excellence - Survey !
Dear Families, Administrators and Teachers:
The Kennedy PTA knows that a strong partnership among our families, school leaders and community members is important to the success of our students and school. That’s why we are participating in the National PTA School of Excellence program, which grows partnerships between PTAs and schools to enrich the educational experience and overall well-being of all students.
At a National PTA School of Excellence, families feel welcomed and empowered to support student success, and PTA is a key partner for continuous school improvement. We feel Kennedy Elementary and Kennedy PTA can achieve that together—and the result will be national, state and community-wide visibility for the positive impact we are making together at Kennedy.
We need your help! As part of the process, National PTA requests feedback from families, administrators and teachers at two points in the school year—the beginning and the end. Your feedback will help us improve our family-school partnership and achieve excellence.
Please take 5-10 minutes to reflect on your experience at Kennedy and complete the final survey, which you can access via the QR code or full link below. If you need a paper copy of the survey, please let the school office know. Select the option that most accurately expresses how you feel about your experience. This survey is completely anonymous. We greatly appreciate your feedback, which will help us improve everyone’s experiences at our school!
Sincerely,
Jeff Bakko, Kennedy PTA President
Karrie Rage, Kennedy Elementary Principal
Thank you for your continued support and collaboration as we work toward becoming a National PTA School of Excellence!
