Counseling Department Updates!

At this time, our course change deadline has passed and student requests for class changes have been completed. It is important to remember that students may not request customized class period changes for things such as lunch schedule, friend's schedule, or a teacher change.

Students that are wishing to level down from an AP class may pick up a level change form from the counseling office beginning Wednesday, September 4th. Once completed, forms may be submitted to the counseling office. Level changes will begin on Monday, September 9th. It is important to remember that leveling down, may result in multiple class periods changing to find available classes.

This Week in Advisory!

This week in Advisory, our Tigers will be taking care of some very important business! They will be resetting their FBISD passwords for the new school year to ensure they are keeping their information secure. Students will also be updating their personal email in Naviance to ensure they don't miss out on the many things sent via Naviance email. Students should put an email address in Naviance that they check regularly!

The rest of the week in Advisory will focus on opportunities for team building within the classroom and time to check in with each other! It is important that our Advisory students develop comfort within their classrooms before we begin our Advisory leadership curriculum!

Tiger Code of Conduct

Our Tiger Code of Conduct is very simple! We ask that all Tigers adhere to these 4 components of our Tiger Code of Conduct:

1. Be Respectful

2. Be Responsible

3. Be Safe

4. Be Ready to Learn

All Tigers have seen the Power Points attached below to review each piece of our Tiger Code of Conduct and are expected to comply with all of our Tiger expectations. Please contact your student's alpha split administrator if you have any questions!

It's Time To Update Your Student's Information!

At this time only 50% of our parents have completed this very important task! We must hit 100%! Please take care of this ASAP. You will not have access to your child's schedule on Skyward Family Access until these forms have been completed!

The window for student verification is now open for all new and returning FBISD students. Parents must verify the contact and emergency information for all students each year! Through Family Access, parents can verify their student’s information and learn more about District resources including Child Nutrition and Extended Learning. Parents without Family Access accounts will need to contact their child’s campus for assistance.

Spirit Days!!!

We have several spirit days throughout the school year that we hope all of our Tigers will participate in! Each week to promote post-secondary plans we have College Wear Wednesday! We ask all students and Staffulty to wear a shirt representing their favorite college and/or military branch! We also believe that part of our strong school culture is that we all come together each week to show support for all of our Tigers so each week on Fridays - WE WEAR RED!

In addition to these spirit days that will last all year long, different weeks and seasons will have their own unique theme days as well. Throughout football season, we have "Theme Day Thursdays" where students are encouraged to dress in accordance with various themes to show support for our Tigers! The photo below is all of our Theme Day Thursdays for this fall as well as our game day themes for all games that do not fall on Thursdays! Friday games will always be RED OUT! And Thursday games will always match the Theme Day Thursday! Saturday games will vary throughout the season!

Parent Resource Corner

Vaping is often being referred to as an epidemic among teens. Our Tigers are no different than any other teens and many of them experiment with the various forms of vapes or e-cigarettes. We will be addressing the risks at school over the course of the year, but we encourage all parents to also educate themselves and have open discussions with your students regarding the dangers of vaping.

Below is one parent resource put out by the CDC.
