Fall Play - November 10, 11, & 12
The Cardington-Lincoln High School Drama Troupe 4813 is pleased to present the comedy Get Smart by Christopher Sergel on November 10, 11, 12 at 7.30pm each evening. Doors will open at 7:00pm and the admission is $8.00 dollars for adults and $5.00 for students. The comedy is based on the popular television series created by Mel Brooks and Buck Henry and features agents 86, 99, 44, and 13 as well as the other members of CONTROL such as the Chief and Miss Finch as they seek to protect the world from the evil Mr. Big, Garth and other KAOS agents (and you never know who they may be). The cast and crew totals nearly 40 high school students who are proud to offer you the opportunity to bring your sense of humor and laughter to the Patrick J. Drouhard auditorium; do not miss this opportunity to support the cast and crew which includes over 10 senior performers and crew members in their final fall production.
Cardington Haunted House On October 22, the Cardington FFA, Cardington Music Program, and the Cardington Theatre Tech Class collaborated to host a community haunted trail at Maxwell Park. The public was welcome from 7:00-9:00pm. Students helped build props for the trail, host the attraction, offer hot chocolate, and serve as scarers. Over 278 patrons visited the trail. This event was done in a partnership with the Friends of Cardington Organization. | FFA National Convention From October 26-29, 2022, sixteen Cardington FFA members attended the National FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana. During the convention, students interacted with over 70,000 FFA members from all 50 states and 2 U.S. territories and had the opportunity to learn from professionals in the agriculture industry and college/career booths. They attended three general sessions of the convention, toured the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, visited a local Bison Farm to learn about animal care, handling, and the niche market. They enjoyed the attractions of the Speedway Indoor Karting with their friends from the Eastwood and River Valley FFA Chapters. During the Second General Session, Cardington FFA President, Ella Struck and Cardington FFA Vice President, Meghan Greenawalt were recognized on behalf of our chapter as we were recognized as a National 3-Star Chapter. This ranking names our chapter as one of the top 250 chapters in the nation out of 8,995 chapters nationwide. On Saturday, October 29, two graduate members, Liam Warren and Tess Ruehrmund recieved the coveted Golden Key of the American FFA Degree. This degree recognizes students with outstanding supervised agricultural experiences, citizenship and community involvement, and active membership of the organization. Less than 1% of FFA members nationwide ever earn this distinction. | FFA Job Interview CDE Thirteen Cardington FFA members have competed in the Job Interview CDE on the County, Sub-District, and District Level. The District Competition took place on November 9, 2022 at Big Walnut High School. Of the 46 students that competed at the District contest, only 5 get the opportunity to qualify for State. We are proud to announce that Alexis Peters placed 3rd individually in the District Division 3 Contest. Miranda Kintz won the District Division 1 Contest and Sophia Goers won the District Division 2 Contest. Miranda Kintz and Sophia Goers have both qualified for the State Competition which will take place November 19. |
