A Message from Dr. Blount
Hutsell Families:
May is already here! The end of the school year will be different, but we have a plan that allows you to receive students’ personal belongings and return school items while maintaining social distancing for everyone's safety. You have received a letter explaining the schedule and procedures for picking up and dropping off items. If you missed the letter, please see a copy below. Classroom teachers will provide you a Family Number and pick-up date by May 8th. I'd like to encourage our 5th grade parents to make sure to come pick-up students' materials as there will be an added surprise for our 5th graders!
This is teacher appreciation week. We're so grateful for all the hard work that our staff has done and would like to invite you to join us in celebrating our teachers by sending your child's teacher a note using the link in the Teacher Appreciation section below.
Have a great week!
Sincerely,
Dr. Margie Blount
Hutsell Elementary Principal

Yearbook Distribution!
The yearbooks are in and we'd like to sincerely thank you for purchasing one! If you ordered a yearbook earlier this year or online, we will distribute them along with student items during the week of May 11.
Any yearbook that is not picked up will be available for pick-up at a later time. Stay tuned for news on how to order a book if you missed the deadline!
Library News
We have added one more resource for students in PreK - 2nd grade that will be available until the end of the month.
Bookflix is a great resource with thematically paired fiction and nonfiction titles that are designed to bridge learning-to-read and reading-to-learn. Animated classic storybooks introduce early learners to the delights of reading while sparking curiosity, creating a natural springboard into the paired nonfiction text for deeper discovery. For information on how to access it, please use your grade level's learning board and look in the Library activities slide located in the Specials page.
