Mykayla read Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children for the fiction category. She built a working light house for her display.
Research @ the PAC Library
Black History Month had its beginnings in 1926 in the United States, when historian Carter G. Woodson announced the second week of February would be set aside to celebrate African-American history. This week was chosen because it marked the birthday of both Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass. However, it has grown from a mere 7-day celebration to a month of recognizing and celebrating accomplishments of black American in every area of our history.
