PRINCIPAL'S CORNER
I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to serve the community and to be the Director/Principal of Advantage Arts Academy. Throughout my life I have worked with children in some capacity from day care, church service, preschool, elementary school teacher, and K-12 Administrator. I love all stages of child development from learning to walk, to learning to stand on their own two feet and making lifelong decisions for their future. I find that my passion and happy place is with Elementary students. I am so excited to be opening Advantage Arts Academy and to provide your children with the opportunity to learn in a way that is engaging and will build their interpersonal skills to prepare them to be strong, independent adults.
As I have grown throughout my life, I have developed much like a butterfly, from a slow and scared caterpillar, afraid to take risks, to a strong and independent butterfly that spreads their wings and fly. My goal is to help every child find their wings. I want them to know that making mistakes and growing from those mistakes are part of the process. I want them to know that life is full of many beautiful colors such as the butterfly wings and that they create those colors in their own life through the process of learning. I know that we will stumble and will have situations where we may not seem successful but if we will push through those times and work together, we will create a school and community that will help children grow and learn. I am excited to support the process of art integration within learning the content standards. As a child, the arts brought me great joy and freedom. I often painted, danced, or sang to express myself. Through art the students will learn and discover the many beautiful colors of their wings.
Family is one of the most important aspects of my life. One of my greatest blessings is my own family. I have a supportive husband and three beautiful children. I have also been blessed with twin grandsons and another grandson that will enter our family this September. We love spending time together whether at the beach or watching any baseball, basketball, or football game. They are my life and my joy.
Family is the center of my world and I want to honor the families of the Advantage Arts. We will work together to create a school that is a support for your children in your absences during the day. I have an open-door policy and will be here to listen, support, and problem solve to best support the learning of your child.
Thank you for choosing Advantage Arts Academy and wanting a better way of learning for your child. Thank you for giving your child the Advantage of learning. Together we can help the children find their colors of strengths, learn to the highest level of their capacity, and create a community that supports the arts in learning and finding the beauty within ourselves.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
Over the next few weeks we will see significant finishing touches that make the building look less like a construction site and more like a school building. Drive by the building and see the changes that are being made. Here are some of the changes we have seen this week.
The painting of the first floor is beautiful and almost complete. Glass is being installed throughout the building from the front entrance to the library. The classrooms on the east side of the building are starting to take shape and look like classrooms with the addition of he ceilings.
Outside the construction company is preparing to pour asphalt. On the next tour at the end of this week, the asphalt may be done. As you drive by you may also see they have done some of the landscaping has been put in and sprinklers are being laid down so that more landscaping will be added.
The building is becoming a place for your children to grow and thrive. Join us this Friday, 4-17 at 3:30pm for another FaceBook Live tour to see the inside of the building and all the process that has been made.
