Congratulations Class of 2020...You did it!
FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE
Congratulations graduates of the Class of 2020...you did it!
We hope you will all join us for our first EVER alternative graduation ceremony. Today is THE DAY! To access the ceremony, simply go to the Clinton Community School District Facebook page and click on "Watch Now" to view our live-streamed broadcast at 1 pm today!
Also, be sure to join in to the pre-game fun! We will be having an all community "horn honk" shout out to the Class of 2020 to kick off the event. Be sure to honk your car horn, fog horn, or whatever other noise you want to make from 12:50 pm to 12:55 pm to show your love and support of our amazing seniors! Once you hear the police car and firetruck sirens in town, you'll know it's time to go out and MAKE SOME NOISE!
Lastly - STAY TUNED for a follow up email later this evening with a link to our CHS Class of 2020 Graduation Website. The site will house a recorded version of the entire graduation ceremony, our Senior Well Wishes Reel, an Art Dedication to the Senior Class and more! We hope you will enjoy being able to relive the graduation experience over and over again.
On behalf of the entire Clinton Community School District: Seniors - we are SO PROUD OF YOU...congratulations on this huge milestone in your lives!

May 26 - June 9: Period of Enrichment & Remediation
Our Period of Remediation and Enrichment is in FULL SWING!
A HUGE shout out goes to all CHS teachers who have volunteered to serve as Learning Coaches during this time. Students, if you have been identified as a student in need of extra academic support, by now your Learning Coach should have already contacted you to make arrangements for your plan of support. Our goal is to help you prioritize your workload, and to coordinate with your teachers to give you the support you need to ultimately pass all of your classes and earn credit. As a reminder, students who are unsuccessful in passing their classes within the period of remediation will also have the opportunity to earn credit within summer school for designated core classes.
On Tuesday, May 26th a series of enrichment activities were posted to each of the Class Advisory Google Classrooms for grades 9-12. These activities range from choreographing your own dance to planning a trip to the various capitals of the US. All enrichment activities are completely optional, and are designed to get students learning beyond "the screen." Completed activities can be emailed to our Talented and Gifted Coordinator, Mrs. Lund, at lilund@clintonwis.com. We will be sure to post any outstanding student products that come out of the enrichment activities in upcoming newsletters.

Should I take my class for Pass/No Pass or for a Letter Grade?
As of May 28th, teachers have updated their Skyward gradebooks for this semester for all classes, except for the following dual-credit courses: Honors Chemistry, Accounting I & II, Introduction to Business & Marketing and Computer Applications. I highly encourage all students to log into Skyward today to view grades and to make decisions regarding if you plan on taking your classes for a grade of Pass/No Pass or for letter grades. Here are a couple of things to consider during your thought process:
If you hand in no additional work moving forward, the letter grade you see in Skyward today will be the letter grade you receive for Semester II.
In order to “keep” the letter grade that you see in Skyward, you need to fill out a Pass/No Pass Opt Out Form by no later than Monday, June 1, at 12 noon. Please note: this is a secure form that is available only to those with an "@clintonwis.com" email address, so you will need to fill it out from your student account.
Letter grades will be averaged into your cumulative GPA, and Pass/No Pass grades will not. That being said, it is wise for you to only request a letter grade for those classes that you have done well in.
On June 10, teachers will replace all letter grades with a Pass/No Pass grade unless we have an opt-out form from you saying that you prefer to keep your letter grade for that class. Grades of D- and higher will be replaced with a CS (Covid-Satisfactory-Pass); grades of “F” will be replaced with a CU (Covid-Unsatisfactory - No Pass).
You will earn graduation credit for any classes you pass, regardless of if you request a letter grade or not.
You can take some classes for Pass/No Pass and some classes for a letter grade. Yes! You get to pick and choose!
FOR STUDENTS IN DUAL-CREDIT CLASSES ONLY: You must complete a Dual Credit Grading Option Form for each dual credit class you are in to choose how you want your grade to be reported on your Blackhawk Technical College Transcript. Dual Credit teachers have already emailed you this form earlier this week.
The COVID-19 grading system is designed ultimately to put the "power" in the hands of students and families in that YOU have the choice of which grades will show up as letter grades on your transcript and are averaged into your GPA. Feel free to reach out to your teachers or to Mrs. Runkel if you need help in deciding what is best for you. We are here to support you, Cougars!
