Women in the gold rush usually did different things than men men did. They instead made boarding houses, got married, and sometimes even where prostitutes.
Entertaining
Ladies would entertain men by being prostitutes.
Marriage
Marriage was pretty much in jeopardy in this time period lots of people would divorce.
Jobs
Most of them would have jobs like prostitution, house moms and care takers.
