Message from Mrs. Wilken
Dear Trailblazer Families,
This week we will having a special Community Gathering this Thursday November 10th in honor of Veterans Day. This Community Gathering will be lead by our own Mr. Erik and a group of our upper grade students. I hope you will considering joining us for this special event Thursday morning in our quad at 7:55am. Friday there is no school in honor of Veterans Day.
November is the month when we celebrate Native American Heritage. Native American heritage marks a month-long celebration of the culture, traditions, beliefs, customs, and contributions of the Native American people. Our Trailblazers will be spending time learning and discussing the contributions of Native Americans to the United States and our collective culture.
Parent Teacher Conference week and Thanksgiving break are quickly approaching. Please make sure you have signed up for a time to meet with your child/children's teacher during the week of November 14th - November 18th. Remember Monday November 14th is a non student day and the remainder of the week students are dismissed at 12:25pm.
Proud to be Your Principal,
Mrs. Wilken

Ongoing! Giving Tree at Stone Ranch!
The holidays are a time of giving and receiving, but did you know that we have families right here at Stone Ranch who may not be able to provide their children with gifts for the holidays this year?
The Giving Tree wants to help! The Adopt-a-Family program is a PUSD district-wide program where parents, students, faculty and staff help provide gifts and gift cards to be distributed to families who may need a little something extra this season.
A "Giving Tree" is set up in the front office displaying apples and leaves with items on the families' wish lists. If you would like to purchase a gift or gift card for one of the families, you can choose an apple/leaf off the tree, purchase the gift or gift card that is noted on it, and drop it off in the front office with the leaf/apple attached.
Thank you in advance for helping make this holiday season one filled with kindness, generosity and love for families in our district!
If you have any questions, please contact Andie Villegas, Chair of The Giving Tree at givingtreesres@gmail.com

FROM THE HEALTH OFFICE
Head Injury & Sickness Protocols
Head Injury Policy:
Any head injuries that show discoloration, swelling and/or sensitivity to touch will have parent notification via phone call before they are allowed to return to class. In cases where there are signs of a potential concussion, parents will be called, and the child will be sent home.
All head injuries that come to the office will be documented and an incident report will be completed.
Sickness Protocol :
In order for the health technician to call home for students to be picked up, the student must exhibit similar symptoms as they are showing in the classroom. Students who are sent to the health office will be observed by the health technician for 10 - 15 minutes. If symptoms are present and observable, the health tech will call home. If the symptoms are not observable within the 10 - 15 minutes, or seemingly to improve with health tech attention, students will be sent back to class.
The exceptions are fever, vomit and bowel issues. Students who have any one of these 3 symptoms are sent home.
Ongoing! General Health Office News
Sick students should not be at school. Thank you for your efforts to help us keep all students and staff healthy. If your child has a fever, please do not send them to school, even if you give them medicine and the fever comes down. All students with a fever must be home and 24 hours fever free before returning to school.
If you need to know the latest COVID protocol, you can always refer to the PUSD website here. You are also welcome to call the health office with any questions at 858-487-8474 x4108 or email Rachael McKinnon at rmckinnon@powayusd.com.
Stay safe and well.
