Field Trip: Second Chance Bangkok: Cancelled

We have an update on the planned Grade 3 field trips to Second Chance.

Unfortunately, there were some potential risks with the local surroundings that surfaced during the first visit. As a result, the leadership team has made the decision to cancel the remaining trips to ensure the safety of all.

Please know that we will continue the relationship with Second Chance Bangkok and will have them back to our campus again for more learning

ISA

Last week students sat for the ISA (International School Assessment). Monday and Tuesday were long days for our children, but they did a great job and were very proud of themselves. They were especially pleased with the new seating arrangement for the test.

Structures of Life: Science

We have also launched our new Science unit: Structures of Life. Students have been investigating their own questions; What do we need to grow a seed? If we do not plant a seed in soil will it grow? How much water does a seed absorb in 24 hours? What are differences between seeds, seedlings and their rate of growth?

Students made window greenhouses and planted corn, sunflowers, bush beans and peas. They observed over 2 weeks. They also planted seedling in our hydroponics grower in the 3rd grade quad and made comparisons.

Students have been following the Scientific Method; Purpose, Hypothesize, Experiment & Analysis.

This week we also introduced classroom pets, land snails and tomorrow Crayfish. It will be an exciting week observing these critters and making predictions.
