National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist
Elizabeth High School (EHS) senior Brandon Marshall was recently named as a semifinalist in the 65th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. As a long-term Elizabeth School District student, Marshall is currently on the EHS soccer team, track team, and in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). He is still considering his post-graduation plans, but wants to study mathematics, finance, or engineering. The nationwide semifinalists are the highest-scoring state entrants on the 2018 PSAT/NMSQT tests and represent less than one percent of all U.S. high school seniors.
Math Teacher, Karl Zander, said, "For the past two years, I have had the pleasure of working with Brandon, and look forward to being his teacher this year in AP Calculus BC. Brandon is a focused and driven student who grasps concepts quickly. His hard work and dedication have allowed him to be successful in academics, while also being involved in many extracurricular activities. I am excited that Brandon is a National Merit Scholar Semifinalist, as he is a student well deserving of this recognition."
