Georgian Bay Islands National Park
The Georgian Bay Islands National Park (GBINP) was established in 1929 and is located in the St Lawrence lowlands natural region. The park has 59 rocky islands and is home to 722 plant species. This park transitions from the granite shores of the Canadian shield, to a dense deciduous woodland. There is also a great diversity of reptiles and amphibians including the rare eastern massassauga rattlesnake, eastern fox snake, and spotted turtles.
