The Real Problem
Most Common Problems Veterans Face Today
About me
PTSD
Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can be so bad that it can even cause veterans to commit suicide. “...about 1000 veterans under VA care attempt suicide, each month,” ( U.S Today) and “Unfortunately, suicide and depression rates remain high among members of the armed forces. this is in part because of the social stigmas attached to seeking mental health treatments which lead to high rates of untreated PTSD in returning veterans,”(The Top 5 Challenges Veterans Face Today). This fact is very scary and sad that the problem is so bad they want to just end it so quickly. One common problem relating to PTSD is nightmares “Two thirds of participants had nightmares at least one per week.” (Ochsner).

Helping Organizations
While PTSD is in many veterans, there are very few organizations that help veterans with PTSD and other problems. “The VA or the department of Veterans.”(US Today) this one of the most known organizations along with “The Wounded Warrior Project…” (New York Times). Other organizations are, “Setting Portland Veterans Affairs Medical Center”(Plagge) and “...the organization Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America can help you understand the educational benefits you’re entitled to as a U.S veteran.” (The Top 5 Challenges Veterans Face Today). these are just a few of the organizations that help veterans.
