Digital Coaches' Corner
Week 6
Merry Christmas
A New use for PowerPoint
The site PechaKucha is the inspiration behind this idea. PechaKucha is a presentation format that displays 20 images and each image is automatically displayed for 20 seconds. PechaKucha has inappropriate content for students, but they can use PowerPoint to create this same type of presentation. This is a great way for students to create impressive presentations. If students need images Creative Commons offers public domain photos that can be used.
Please write a help ticket if you would like a digital coach to help you and your students create presentations. We would be more than willing to spend a few days working with your student to create impressive presentations.
Presentation Tips
Garr Reynolds is a well know presentation expert. He has written several books on the Zen of presentation. The ten tips for preparing, designing and delivering your presentation are very visual and great examples .

Classrooms of the week
First Grade Letters to Santa
The first grade students at West and Grafton watched a personalized video from Santa and then sent him a message. Each student then received a personalized note back from Santa. The student's faces lit up when they realized Santa had "visited West/Grafton" to check if they had been naughty or nice.
