From the Principal
Dear Copeland families,
If you have seen our campus lately, I am sure you have seen the fencing. Our renovation is now underway. During this first phase, exterior work will be completed. We are excited to be getting a new parent drop-off lane which should help with the traffic. In front of the school, we will have a retention area for water which is required for runoff. Workers will be starting on an addition adding four new classrooms in the back of the building. We will eventually have a new roof and new fencing surrounding our school. The work will be done after school hours and should not interrupt instruction.
Our fall fundraiser is underway. As you may remember if you have been at Copeland, our PTO was able to buy new playground equipment last year thanks to your generosity. We are now fundraising to buy shade canopies to provide much-needed shade for our sweet students. PTO is also raising money to fund the great programs that all students enjoy here. It is awesome that the theme of Raise Craze is kindness which we reinforce daily here.
Thanks for your continued support of our great school. We love our Copeland community!

Students in grades K-5 will have four opportunities during the school year to use “credit-by-exam” to accelerate to another grade level. Students will only have one opportunity to test for each grade level considered.
To apply to take the test to skip kindergarten, a student must be 5 by September 1st and registered in a CFISD school. To apply to take the test to skip grade 1, a student must be 6 by September 1st and enrolled in a CFISD school.
Students who earn scores of 80% or better on each component of the credit-by-exam will qualify to advance one grade. Only one grade level may be “skipped” each year. No retests will be given.
If you are interested in getting more information about credit-by-exam, please contact one of the school counselors.
