Mrs. Walters' News
A great big THANK YOU is in order to our very own Lowell Education Foundation! This generous organization funds many projects in our district each year. Bushnell was awarded three grants for this school year. Mrs. Wilson submitted a grant for a visit from the mobile FARMLAB which came several weeks ago for all our kindergarten and first grade classes. Miss Aaron, one of our special education teachers, submitted a grant for funds to be used for culinary experiences for her students. So far they've made rice krispie sushi treats, fruit pizzas, protein balls and friendship mix! Finally, Mrs. Cummings received funds for alternative seating choices for her class which is especially useful during reading workshop.
Bushnell will be participating in the third annual district wide coat drive this fall! Our district goal is to gather 500 new or gently used coats! We will also gladly accept boots, snowpants, mittens and scarves! New hats only please! The donation bin is located in the main office at Bushnell. If you have any questions, please contact Sarah Allchin at 616-540-5345. Thanks for considering!
Mark your calendars for a fun family night on Wednesday, Novemeber 20th from 5-6:30 (flyer came home last week)! We will be having MILK & BOOKIES night! Come in your pajamas to enjoy a rotation of 6 different read alouds, complete with teachers in character! Your kids will hear great stories from Dr. Seuss to Mo Willems! Before you leave for the night a special treat before bedtime will be handed out to all children who attend! We really hope you can join us for this special night!
