UIL Cheerleading Show Off - Jan. 13th
CTE Spotlight: Virtual Business
Mrs. Wright teaches Virtual Business. In the virtual business course, students create business concept and work through a variety of business skills including financing, business plans, customer segments, branding, website development and more. This year, students focused on integrating drones into currently existing businesses. To close out the learning, students were responsible for creating a drone, sphero or ollie obstacle course. The unit focused on the different steps of project management which is an up-and-coming position in a variety of professional industries. They developed an obstacle course competition of their choice, planned out the details of the course and competition, executed the creation and details of the course, monitored and controlled issues within the process and closed the project with a final course competition.
Lubbock Chamber of Commerce Offers Entrepreneurship Program for Teens

Pirate Pantry Weekend Food Bags
If students are on free or reduced lunch, they may stop by the Pirate Pantry in room 401 on Fridays after the dismissal bell rings to pick up a weekend food bag.
Teacher of the Month - December
The LCHS Teacher of the Month is Lindsey Leija, who teaches Health Science and Health Science Practicum. Students in Mrs. Leija has been instrumental in bringing students to the South Plains Sim Lab, where her Health Science Practicum students get to practice phlebotomy skills, taking EKGs and vital signs, as well as many other basic patient care skills on the simulation patient. We appreciate the real world experiences Mrs. Leija shares with her students!
