Holy Cross Thunderbolt Newsletter

If you're like me, your faith swings back and forth like a pendulum. One minute I trust God to see me through my challenges, and the next I fear the worst. In the morning I can be full of faith but by 4:00 pm God’s faithfulness seems distant, and anxious thoughts fill my mind.

Most of us can relate to having faith one day and losing it the next. During Sunday morning Mass, we sing and believe God moves mountains and works miracles. But maybe on Thursdays as we run our kiddo to the emergency room or work late to meet a deadline, worry sets in again.

If you find yourself trusting God one moment and panicking the next like me, don’t beat yourself up over it. We just need to draw near to God and confess our doubts. We need to trust Him and turn our focus away from ourselves and our worries and towards God, the all-powerful One who can do far more than we ask or imagine.

Let’s Pray:

Lord, examine our hearts and help us recognize our own anxious thoughts so we might surrender them to you. Forgive our unbelief and teach us to trust you. You are a merciful God, faithful to your children, always abounding in wisdom and steadfast love. Teach us to pray as we lift up our concerns to you, one by one.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

There was an omission in last week's newsletter. Ms. DeGroot will be our middle level math and Spanish teacher.

Ms. Abby Charlier

Abby Charlier is beyond excited to be teaching at Holy Cross. She just graduated from St. Norbert College in May 2022. In her free time during college she enjoyed working at a daycare and working backstage for musicals. Her hometown is De Pere, so she is excited to be teaching close to home. This will be Abby's first year teaching and will have the pleasure of teaching science and religion for grades 6-8. She cannot wait to meet everyone and see what this new journey brings!

WELLO - A local NonProfit has awarded funds to Holy Cross to purchase enhancements to the school garden and green space. These upgrades will include a timer for the outdoor classroom sprinklers, wheelbarrow, fruit trees and additional composting materials. These items will help to enhance our "school garden to table" efforts. Thank you, WELLO, for supporting our efforts here at HCCS!

TOYS/GAMES FOR CHURCH PICNIC

We are asking for your help with donations of games/toys/prizes for the childrens' games at the Holy Cross Church Picnic. If you are out and about and find some great deals or have some new items at home that you would like to donate, please bring those to the school or parish and drop them in the box marked accordingly.

Used Uniform Sale - All Items $1

Wednesday, June 1st, 8am-3pm
Outside the school (weather permitting) or TBD within the school building
This is a great way to get some uniform pieces and spirit wear in anticipation for next Fall.
If you have any items you wish to donate, please bring those to the school office by Wednesday, May 25th.
