Parent Orientation Reminder
6:30 p.m.-7:15 p.m.: Grades 1, 3, 5, AIME & MILE
7:30 p.m.- 8:15 p.m.: Grades K, 2, 4, 6
This event is for parents only, and we will not have childcare available. If you do not have childcare, please join the virtual/concurrent option provided by your child's teacher. This will help us socially distance for this event.
Please read through the following information as a reminder from District 15 regarding Parent Orientation:
We are looking forward to our upcoming Parent Orientation and hope you will be able to join us either in person or via livestream! We place a high value on these evenings as they are a great way to build a home/school connection.
This year, we have made a few adjustments to the structure and some additional safety procedures for the evening. We ask that:
All attendees must wear masks;
Parents are asked to sit in their child’s seat for contract tracing purposes;
Maintain 3 feet physical distance within the classroom; and
By showing up in-person you are certifying that you are COVID-19 symptoms free.
Based on the Governor’s Executive Order 2021-18, issued August 4, 2021, all individuals, including students, staff and visitors must wear a face covering at all times while in school buildings. In addition, CCDPH’s indoor masking mandate requires all individuals, regardless of vaccination status to wear a mask indoors, effective August 23, 2021.
Therefore, that means that parents/guardians are expected to wear a face covering to their child(ren)’s Parent Orientation/Curriculum Night. Those who arrive at the school without a face covering will be provided a disposable face covering to wear. If you do not want to wear a mask, we expect you to attend the event via livestream.
We are asking you to consider sending one parent/guardian (no students or siblings please as this proves a challenge in maintaining the requirements of the governor’s executive order) per household to orientation. We will also be providing a livestream option for parents to view the presentation remotely. Your child’s homeroom teacher will email a link to a “Google Meet” if they haven’t done so already.
Again, we hope you enjoy learning about the exciting plans teachers have for your child(ren) and we look forward to seeing you soon.
Picture Day is Coming Soon! Mark your calendar for Wednesday, September 8!
A note on masks: Inter-State Studio photographers and reps will follow the mask policy in place at your school.
For student pictures, please note we rely on parent volunteers or school employees to ensure each child is ready to have their picture taken and has their mask removed if they feel comfortable. Our photographers may simply ask one time, "Would you like to take off the mask for your portrait?"
Please make sure teachers or volunteers remind the students that when it's their turn to take their picture, it is okay to remove the mask and hold it in their hands.
Picture Day for Gray M Sanborn Elementary School is scheduled for Wednesday, September 8, 2021 and your school's Order Code is 60461KF. Use this information and the tools on the Picture Day Guide Website to promote your school's Picture Day.
