Hello Bobcat Families!
We want to extend a HUGE thank you to families of our Kindergarten and 1st grade students this week who prepared for remote learning in less than 24 hours. THANK YOU for ensuring no learning is lost during this critical time. This work would not be possible without your tireless efforts ensuring students are logged on at 8:15am every morning and have a quiet place to complete their school day with your support.
As a reminder, we are going to re-iterate the important message that was sent home last week, in the case that another grade might have to quarantine in the near future...
Our note this week focuses on the importance of preparing your family for remote learning - a situation we need to always be ready for. As you have seen over the last few weeks, several grade levels at other GPS elementary schools have had to quarantine, and we want to make sure we are prepared for the same situation - if a grade level must quarantine, learning will continue the following day in the remote format via Google Classroom. Our teachers and staff are working hard to make sure ALL students can access their Google Classroom, Google Meets, and Seesaw (for Pre-K -2nd only).
Parents & Families:
1. Please check your student(s)' iPad and be sure you also know how to open their Google Classroom. It is important to be familiar with the platform, as parents will be able to access assignments, get emails about missing work, etc.
2. Please be sure you are familiar with Google Meet. If you do not have a Gmail account, we highly recommend you sign up for one now, so you can easily communicate on the Google platform should we need to pivot to remote school.
3. Please be sure to check your dojo messages from your teacher every day.
4. If your family needs wifi, please email Mrs. Michaelson at alexandra_bartholomew@greenwich.k12.ct.us or call her cell phone at 475-333-1732.
As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions - we are always available!

Families of Students with IEPs
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Welcome or welcome back to New Lebanon School! We understand that the special education process can be an isolating and overwhelming experience. Beginning last September we created the Listening Community. This was a place for parents of children with special needs. The goal of our group continues to be providing you a place to feel heard and a place for you to support each other through the special education process. Should you be interested in joining the Listening Community beginning this Friday, please RSVP to this email. Please know that a Spanish speaking facilitator will also be in attendance.
In the past, we had the luxury of meeting indoors, but in order to keep everyone safe, we are planning to host these meetings outside. We are excited to have some face to face meetings, while maintaining the district’s guidelines, so masks and social distancing will be required. Please bring a lawn chair and perhaps a blanket as the fall chill begins to fill the air. Both meetings will be held on the western side of New Lebanon’s field. You will see a group of us gathered on the field closest to Byram Library.
Friday meetings are scheduled from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM. The dates have been set for the following: 11/6/20, 11/13/20
Wednesday evening meetings are scheduled from 5 PM- 6 PM. The dates have been set for the following: 11/4/20, 11/11/20
Please RSVP emailing sabrina_motta@greenwich.k12.ct.us if you plan on attending on one, two, three… or all :-) of these dates.
We hope that you are able to commit to all or most of the dates in order to maintain participation and the group’s focus.
Thank you,
Sandra Corrente, Emily Khoshaboo, Sabrina Motta, Kristen Mulhearn, & Geanna Partland
