Drop Off and Pick Up
Traffic is congested in the morning, so please allow extra time in order to arrive at class on time. All of our gates are open in the morning, and students may be dropped off at any of the gates, but out of courtesy to our neighbors, do not use St. Rose of Lima Church’s parking lot to drop off or pick up. Their own families are using it for their school.
The speed limit is 5 mph in our parking lots, and please yield to pedestrians.
Student parking is in the west or east (stadium) parking lot in spaces not reserved for staff parking. Students may also park along Arcane street, but please do not block any driveways of our neighbors. All gates will be locked once the bell rings, so admittance will be through the front office only for all tardy students. For students who don’t have a 1st or 2nd period class or for students leaving during their free period (must show ID with proper stickers), gate 7 and 30 (to the east and west parking lots) will open between classes.
Device Policy
Please be aware that each student receives a new laptop when he/she receives textbooks. In the event of damage or loss, the replacement cost for the student is $650. However, the district has provided an opportunity for families to purchase insurance for $47. The flyer was available from your student’s Aeries portal when you update your contact information and acknowledge the receipt of the “Parents Rights Handbook” which is also available in Aeries. This is what it looks like for parents:
Insurance must be purchased within 30 days of your student receiving their device. Click Here for the Insurance Application.
Lunch Information
Once again, each student will be allowed one free breakfast (or nutrition) and one free lunch each day. Students will be required to enter their student ID number to receive the lunch and will be required to pay for any additional items beyond the allotted meal. Seniors presenting their ID with a valid lunch sticker will be allowed off campus.
Students in 9-11th grade with a “Free Period” and “Off” sticker will only be allowed off campus for lunch on the days the student has a free period attached to lunch. However, juniors who meet the qualifications may apply for a "Lunch" sticker at the start of 4th quarter. See qualifications below.
If dropping off food, it must be dropped off at the main office before lunch and have the student’s name on the bag. Only the student (no friends) receiving the food may come to the office at lunch to pick up the food.
Off Campus Stickers
Senior Lunch Sticker
12th grade students can earn the privilege to leave campus for lunch every day. If parents would like to authorize their senior student to leave campus for lunch, they must complete the attached form. Please know that submitting the form does not mean that your senior student will automatically be granted permission to leave. Senior students must meet the qualifications listed below:
* Student is currently a 12th grade student
* Student has a GPA of 2.0 or higher
* Student has a 90% attendance rate and has not received a letter of truancy
* Student has acceptable behavior-no disciplinary actions
* Parent/Guardian has read and acknowledged the "Disclaimer" section
* Parent/Guardian has completed and approved the Lunch Pass Application.
Senior lunch stickers are distributed at the attendance window before and after school ONLY. Seniors must have their current ID card to receive their sticker. Senior students must present their current ID card with the appropriate "Lunch" sticker in order to leave campus through the East or West parking lot gates. Students without their stickered ID card will not be able to leave.
Free Period and “Off” Stickers
Beginning Monday, August 15th, students will be allowed to obtain their free period stickers before and after school and during the student's free period. A free period class indicates that during this period, the student does not have a class and may remain in the main quad or library during that period. However, upon parent/guardian authorization on this form, the student may be permitted to leave campus with an “OFF” sticker. All students not given authorization will be required to remain on campus in the main quad or in the library during their free period/study hall.
Please be aware that if the student has a class following their free period, the student must return to campus on time or be in jeopardy of being truant.
All students must carry their school ID every day; students without their current ID with the proper "Off" and period sticker will not be allowed to leave campus. In addition, students' eligibility to leave campus may be revoked at any time by Administration if the student fails to comply with the attendance, tardy, and lunch policy explained on the form.
Because students must have their new ID to receive their stickers, if they missed their registration and photo day, they should plan to get their ID at Makeup picture day on Monday, August 15th.
Beginning August 15th, students with a free period will no longer be able to show a printed copy of their schedule with a photo ID in order to leave during their Free Period. They MUST have their free period and "OFF" stickers.
Please note - seniors qualifying for a lunch sticker will not receive an "OFF" sticker for their free period because the lunch sticker will authorize the student to leave during their free period as well.
Dress Code
Students are asked to choose clothing that does not distract from the educational environment. For any violation of our dress code, the student will be required to change the inappropriate attire before continuing with the school day. Please be familiar with the dress code policy located in our student handbook available on our school website.
