Dear Parents, Whānau and Caregivers

Well done Paparangi! All our efforts in L3 & L4 have paid off! As our message to you says, school is back on Thursday 9 September. Our school is open to all children and we will have hygiene and safety measures in place to make school safe as possible for students and staff.

For the small number of students who have already been coming to school in our bubble, you can still come to school on Wednesday. These are the only children who are able attend on Wednesday, as school is only open tomorrow for students who have already been attending, having made prior arrangements with the school.

Tomorrow teachers will not be holding online hui with their classes as they will be onsite preparing classrooms for Thursday. We want to be ready for your return on Thursday.

Keep reading for information about what Level 2 will look like. It's school, but not as we know it. There are also changes from other L2 periods we have had before.

What does Level 2 look like?

Our focus for the first week back will be well-being and re-setting routines for learning. Here are the general guidelines for Level 2. When we open at level 2 the key areas that we will be promoting include:

  • Regular use of hand-washing or sanitiser by all those onsite and thorough daily cleaning routines
  • Minimising interactions between syndicates and classes during the school day
  • Minimising adults onsite to staff and educational workers only, except at drop-off / pick-up times
  • Recording contact tracing details of adult visitors. All adults must scan the QR code.

Bring chromebooks and equipment back on Thursday

If you were loaned a device or equipment during the lockdown, please bring it back with you to school on Thursday. Return equipment to your teacher. All equipment will be cleaned before it is circulated for use again.
