SENIOR TIMELINE
PURCHASE ORDER REQUESTS
UNPAID LEAVE OF ABSENCE
We are requiring unpaid leave per Article 18 (H) 3 regarding "Special Circumstances" to be approved by the building principal first. If your building principal agrees that the circumstances are special enough to validate approving an unpaid leave, they will provide you with a form that must be completed by you and signed by the building principal and superintendent. The signed form needs to be scanned into the absence management system (currently known as AESOP) prior to submitting a request for approval in AESOP. Once in AESOP, the principal and superintendent need to approve electronically.
We believe this procedure will help us all comply with the negotiated agreement and allow for the necessary communication to make certain unpaid leave requests due to "special circumstances" are appropriately approved or denied between the employee and superintendent, and properly communicated to the principal and treasurer as well.
Unpaid leave for special circumstances CANNOT be put in AESOP until the form is returned to the member. If the unpaid leave form is not attached, the absence will be denied. This form will satisfy the "request...submitted in writing to the Superintendent". This form should also be completed at least "thirty (30) calendar days prior to the requested beginning date of the leave."
PRIDE OF PICKERINGTON (POPS)
Nominate a classified and/or certificated colleague
Nominations will be accepted through March 8, 2019.
Do you have a great colleague who goes above and beyond to make Pickerington Schools a great place to learn, work and play? Someone who consistently demonstrates the district’s core values and mission?
Nominate them for the 2019 Pride of Pickerington Schools Award!
Through the Pride of Pickerington Schools Awards, the district recognizes excellence in teachers and support staff members in each building.
You may submit a nomination for one certificated/licensed and one classified staff member from your building.
District Level Pride of Pickerington Schools Award Winners will receive a $500 award. Building-level winners each will receive a $100 award. All recipients will be recognized at a board of education meeting in May, where the district-wide winners will be announced.
Nominations
To nominate a certificated/licensed and/or classified colleague click on the link provided above.
You will be asked to answer some brief questions about your nominee. This will include completing three of five nomination categories that illustrate how your nominee represents the district in areas such as core values, work performance, dedication, collaboration and reflecting the Pickerington Schools mission. Detailed descriptions of each of these categories are on the nomination form. Nominating a colleague is easy, as each of the three categories is limited to 1500 characters! The more you can share about why your candidate should be the POPS recipient, the better their chances are of standing out and being noticed.
Staff in each building will vote on nominees. Then, building principals will evaluate nominations for the top three candidates and select one certificated and one classified staff member as Pride of Pickerington Award Nominees for 2019. A committee comprised of the District Superintendent, Director of Human Resources, PEA and PSSA presidents, the Public Relations Coordinator, and two representatives of the community will evaluate the pool of building nominees and choose one classified and one certificated/licensed district-wide winner.
The deadline for nominating one of your colleagues is March 8, 2019.
