Is Your Child Interested in Lego Robotics? You Need to Read This!
Hello to all UCS, K-6 families!
Crevolution Robotics is a high school robotics team within the UCS district that is delighted to announce that we are hosting an Open House for all K-6 families interested in getting their student(s) involved in FIRST Robotics, an international, youth organization that teaches students essential STEAM skills through innovation, creativity, and collaboration.
Specifically, FIRST Robotics has an FLL (FIRST LEGO League) program that is designed for young students to get involved in the world of STEAM by creating solutions to real-world issues through a research project students present at competitions. Additionally, FLL teaches students how to design, build, and code their own robot from LEGOs to compete in competitions based on different annual challenges.
To learn about joining this program and getting involved, Crevolution Robotics invites you to our Open House event on May 24th, 2023, at Rosekidd Elementary from 6:30-8:00 PM. At this event, existing FLL teams will be able to explain their experiences as an FLL student, and Crevolution will aid in linking interested students to an existing FLL team, or in creating their own at their elementary school.
Parents who are interested in getting involved will also be given information about mentoring for an FLL team. Please note that becoming a parent-mentor requires no experience, and training may be provided for parents new to the FLL program. Likewise, any elementary student may join FIRST Robotics through the FLL program!
