Winter Festival!

Our Winter Festival is this Friday December 3, 2021! We will have booths for games, food trucks, and music from our band and choir and a cheer squad performance. We can only accept cash or checks for tickets. Many of the food trucks will only take tickets which can be purchased at the gate!

Late Morning Arrivals

Please remember that school starts at 8:15 am. We are currently averaging around 40 tardies each morning. This is highly disruptive to our morning routine and creates loss of instruction. The bell rings at 8:10 to ensure that students are at their desks, ready to go by 8:15.


Most often, the parent drop off process begins at 7:50 am, providing plenty of time to drop students off by 8:10. The parent drop off gate will close at 8:10 and all tardies must go through the front office. Thank you for helping us with this situation.

Tomorrow is a 90 Minute Early Release Friday for Teacher Collaboration

We are currently in the 3rd year of our Early Release Friday calendar at DVUSD. The reason behind this early release schedule is to allow job embedded time for our teachers to collaborate, analyze data, and identify standards, skills, and students who are in need of reteaching, enrichment, or an adjustment in pacing. Our Kindergarten through 4th grade teams meet together and our 5th through 8th grade teams work collaboratively with teachers from Anthem, Gavilan Peak, Paseo Hills, New River, and Sunset Ridge.


This relapse time is critical for our teachers to plan, adjust, and prepare for upcoming lessons in order to meet the needs of all our students. DVUSD was recently named one of only a very select few Model PLC Districts in the nation, and we continue to use this time for student growth.


For your quick reference, the 90 minute early release days, with a release time of 1:30 pm, for the 2021-2022 school year are as follows:

Please Help Support our HAWK Store and Cart!

Our second quarter is off to a great start! We are continuing to work on supporting students with positive behavior through our PBIS and All Things EQ. Our “kindness campaign” is very successful and we at Desert Mountain would like to see it continue. Students are able to earn HAWK (Honorable, Accountable, Willing, Kind) bucks for positive behavior. We are asking for donations for our HAWK store. Desert Mountain students love being able to earn HAWK bucks and spend it at the store. Many of our item purchases are from Amazon, Oriental Trading, Dollar store or something similar.
