Third Grade Thoughts
Weekly news from Glenhope 3rd grade! (Volume 15-16, Issue 8)
Fall Festival...COMING SOON!
Each classroom at Glenhope is in charge of creating a basket (with its own theme) that will be up for auction at the festival. Each of our room parents have been working hard to collect items/money for the basket as well as sign up volunteers to help run the event. Please look for letters and emails asking for items and volunteers. We appreciate all of you who help with the event!
We also hope that you consider coming to the festival on the 24th to support our wonderful PTA. Your children will even have the option to enter the auction for a special outing with the 3rd grade teachers!
Report Cards...We are all Growing!
This year, the progress report and report card are the same document. You will notice some items on your child's report have stayed the same from 6 weeks to 9 weeks, while others have changed.
As we stated on curriculum night, some skills take longer for students to develop. They are expected to meet these skills by the end of the year, so they may not completely have the skill just yet. If your child isn't making adequate progress, you will be hearing from us.
We are excited about how much growth we've already had!

Grit: overcoming failure
We hope you enjoy the video as well!
Oh, the places we'll go as a 1:1 campus
We also want to make sure you are monitoring what your child is doing on their iPad. For example, they have the BrainPOP app on their iPad. BrainPOP has many educational videos that make concepts easy to understand. However, BrainPOP does carry videos that are for older children, such as videos about reproduction, AIDS, etc. We would suggest that you tell your child they must check with you before searching and watching a video on BrainPOP.
We thank you for your continued support on this 1:1 journey!
