ONE...Team, Vision, and Goal
Thank you!
I want to give a huge shout out to all of you. In the midst of this crisis, I realize that your world has been turned upside down. If you are anything like me, this is such a weird feeling to work from home while managing the academics of my own children. Please know that all of the educators at Manchester Park are dedicated to providing you and your child the support and feedback to help them continue to grow as they navigate through the continuous learning plan. Are there days that are difficult at the Bohon household? Absolutely. :) I do see so many positives though and I love all of the unexpected time that I have with the family. I hope that all of you have those moments that you can sit back and enjoy aspects of this time...whether it is the beautiful weather that we have had (other than today), the extra time to work around the house, or the added time with your family. We GOT this! Please connect with your child's teacher if we can help.
ONE...TEAM, VISION, and GOAL.
Continuous Learning Plan
Hopefully, you have had the opportunity to have your students work on the CLP this week. There will be new lessons every week and these will be available on Monday morning. The structure will be similar from week to week, so this will help with your scheduling.
If you haven't seen the email from the school district today, please see it below:
We want to thank you for the overwhelming patience and support you have provided the district as we have worked to navigate our current reality and the implementation of our Continuous Learning Plan. We are proud of our staff for the hours they have dedicated to creating high quality content at every age level. We’re proud of our families and communities for putting such a great emphasis on education, even if it looks different than the traditional classroom. I’m proud of our students for the resilience they are showing during this difficult time.
The first week of Continuous Learning has been a great success. Students are keeping engaged in learning, while staying safe with their families. We look forward to launching new content each Monday morning for the next seven weeks. Packet learning has also been a great success. These packets, with new content, will continue to be available each week to print from the website or to pick up at the food distribution sites, Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Central, Fairview, Havencroft, Indian Creek, Northview, Ridgeview, Rolling Ridge, Washington and Westview elementary schools. Read more about food distribution here: https://bit.ly/2WuPcih.
It’s important to note that at this time, no additional assignments on top of what is available on the Continuous Learning website and in packets will be given to students in grade PK-8. The exception would be specific situations at the high school level. Based on feedback we receive, we will work to enhance each week’s materials to make sure we are continuously striving to meet the needs of all of our students. With this in mind, we will have challenge boards, with additional learning opportunities for students PK-8, beginning on April 13.
As a reminder for those of you with students in grades PK-8, please feel free to reach out to your student’s teachers for feedback while remembering the feedback will not impact grades. For our students in high school, please continue to work with teachers and school staff related to contracts, Advanced Placement, College Now, and Quickstep.
If you have any questions regarding the Continuous Learning Program, please contact your classroom teacher.
Thank you for being a partner with the Olathe Public Schools. We look forward to sharing new content on Monday at www.olatheschools.org/ContinuousLearning.
SeeSaw - A Tool to Stay Connected
At the beginning of the school year, our teachers requested funding for a school wide version of SeeSaw. Our PTO saw this as a great communication tool and funded this request in full. With our buildings closed, this resource has become invaluable.
Manchester Park teachers want to stay connected with your children! If you and your child are not connected to SeeSaw, please contact your child's teacher.
