Mustang Tales
October 15, 2021 Vol 2. Issue 8
Message from Principal Masone
Dear Families,
Fifth grade had an exciting week at Camp Shadybrook where it was cold and rainy AND fun. Students learned how to kayak, throw tomahawks, rock climb and more. We have a terrific cadre of fifth grade students who made camp especially enjoyable.
Next week, we have conferences on October 20 and 21. Conferences will be offered in-person and virtually. On Thursday, October 20, we will have early dismissal at 12:30 and no school on October 21, to accommodate conferences. After meeting with your child's teacher, come check out student work in our hallways, along with our Book Fair.
We now offer after school care for elementary students at MSES. Please see the flyer below.

What is a trickster tale? (A story where one of the other characters tricks the other characters). In the story Tug-of-War, which character was the trickster? (The Turtle). What was the moral of the story Tug-of-War? (Big animals can be friends with little animals). What does it mean to boast? (To brag). Is boasting kind? Why or why not? (Answers will vary). In the story Jumping Mouse, which character showed kindness to Jumping Mouse? (The frog). What gift does Jumping Mouse give the bison? (His eyesight). What gift does Jumping Mouse give to the wolf? (His sense of smell). What does Jumping Mouse turn into at the end of the story because he did not misuse his powers? (An Eagle so he could fly to the far off land).
