Whitehall Wonders

September 11, 2020

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to another exciting year at Whitehall Elementary School. Whitehall 's vision is "Wholeheartedly Helping Everyone Succeed". Whitehall is preparing students to move forward

towards college and/or the competitive workplace. Yes, even at the elementary level. We believe it starts with us. We are proud of our accomplishments, and have a commitment to excellence.

Our belief is that parents and educators should be partners, so students receive the best education. We hope that you will partner with us to help your child reach their highest potential. We know things will be different this year, but we encourage parents to make appointments, set up virtual meetings, send notes, listen to messages sent out through the school system, and communicate with the teacher through Remind, School Messenger, or Class Dojo.

The entire faculty and staff at Whitehall is committed to providing a high-quality instructional program focused on meeting the needs of each student, as well as a safe, orderly, and nurturing environment.

MAP Testing

September 14-18

MAP Testing for K5-5th Grade

K4/K5 Hybrid Schedule

  • K4 and K5 students have been on a hybrid schedule this week. Their regular schedule will begin next week.

  • All K4 and K5 students will attend on September 14.

Temperature Checks, Masks, Hugs, and High Fives

Please prepare your child for the new look of school.

  • Student's temperatures will be checked when they enter the building from the car drop off circle or from the bus circle.
  • We are definitely sad, but staff will not hug or high five students. This one will be hard for ALL involved.
  • All students must enter the building wearing a mask. Masks must be worn by all students walking in the hallways and during duty. Car riders getting out of the car must put their mask on before exiting the car.
  • K4-1st grade students can remove their masks when they enter their classroom.
  • 2nd-5th grade students must wear their masks in the classrooms. They will receive mask breaks throughout the day.

Staff will include these procedures and expectations when teaching the daily routines.

Staggered Dismissal

September 14-18 Dismissal Times by Categories and Grades

Bus Dismissal Begins-2:05

Daycares, YMCA, Walkers-2:18

*Our World Changers have done a fantastic job during dismissal this week. We are so proud of them. Students are social distancing, wearing mask, and following the other new procedures that have been put in place. We will continue to monitor the situation over the next week. Our hope is to begin our dismissal process closer to our normal dismissal time which is 2:30 starting September 21. We will keep you posted on our efforts.

Bus Riders

If your child rides the bus, please be at the bus stop early in the morning and afternoon. This will help students avoid missing the bus in the mornings or being brought back to school in the afternoons. Bus schedules will not be consistent until mid or late September.
