Dear Muskego Lakes Families,
Over the past couple of weeks, we have visited each homeroom to conduct principal check-ins. These principal check-ins have been to highlight and celebrate grade level accomplishments and improvements and review expectations for the rest of the year.
We love being able to visit each homeroom to connect with our students and celebrate their hardwork, determination, and ways they help us live out our vision! Here are some of the celebrations that we have shared with students in our principal check-ins:
Over 70% of students at Muskego Lakes are involved in 1 or more co-curricular activities.
Our students 5-8 have passed as of this week 43,633 iReady lessons! Each lesson passed by students helps them progress forward from their current level of understanding in both math and literacy.
All students in both math and literacy have Standards of Focus trackers that allow them to track their progress to meeting proficiency on grade-level standards.
Students are coming to class with the required materials and are ready to learn.
Students are using their assignment notebooks more consistently to keep track of homework and due dates.
Students are using IC to track missing work and progress independently.
Students are invested in their progress related to their Standards of Focus.
Students consistently support one another in the classroom and encourage one another as they work through activities.
Students consistently support one another in extracurriculars and in the classroom.
Students have decreased their grade level tardies significantly since the beginning of the year.
Students are accepting and welcoming to any peer they work within a class.
We know that this is just a small sample of the celebrations that our students have experienced this year, and while we focused our principal chats on school-wide celebrations, we encourage you to ask your child about some of the personal celebrations they have had so far this year! We are confident that the last nine weeks of school will be filled with even more celebrations for our students, and we look forward to continuing to celebrate alongside them!
With Love,
Rachel Rydzewski & Nancy Pasch

Summer Learning Academy (SLA) Registration & Important Swimming Update
Reminder to all K-8 families that the Infinite Campus registration window for this year’s Summer Learning Academy will remain open until Friday April 8 at 4:00. Although many courses are currently at capacity, there are still open options available for students.
Wait List/Late Registration: After the registration window closes on April 8, a link will be made available for students to be placed on a wait list for courses, should openings become available. As course scheduling occurs between April and May, family plans for summer often change; up until SLA starts in mid-June, students withdraw from courses for a variety of reasons, which creates openings for others.
**IMPORTANT** Update - Summer Swimming Lessons
Due to unforeseen technical issues, a segment of our families were not able to have access to class sessions for swimming when registration opened. By the time the error was corrected, many time slots were already filled to capacity and unavailable for these families. Additionally, some families signed up for more than one half-hour lesson for each of the June, July, and August sessions, further restricting options for those attempting to register their child.
Given these complications, along with the intent to provide equal registration opportunity to all families interested in this highly popular course offering, we will be erasing all current registrations for swimming and starting fresh with a new registration window on Tuesday, April 5 at 8:00 AM. The window will close on Friday, April 8 at 4:00 PM. At this time, we will be registering students for the June 13-24 session only.
IMPORTANT - All students who are currently registered will have to re-register during this April 5 - April 8 window. Families are reminded that they are to sign up for only one 30-minute time slot for the June 13-24 session.
Information will be forthcoming in regards to the new registration window for the July 11-22 and August 1-12 sessions.
We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause. We are confident, however, that this change in our process will lead to more equity for our families wanting to provide this opportunity to their children.
April 5th Referendum Information
Next week, on Tuesday, April 5th, the Muskego-Norway community will have the opportunity to vote on two questions regarding the district’s facility plans. The two referendum questions are independent of one another. Therefore, electors may vote “yes” or “no” on each of the two questions. Depending on the final voting results, the electorate may approve one, both, or neither referendum questions.

Mid-Week Munchies for Staff at MLMS
Speak Up, Speak Out Wisconsin
Our staff at Muskego Lakes take threats seriously. We are grateful for our partnership with students and parents as they continue to be invested in their school culture as we all work together to keep our schools safe. We encourage all families to talk about how a child should respond to any threat or concern, regardless of the source or legitimacy. If a student or parent is not comfortable going directly to a district staff member, they can use Wisconsin's Speak Up, Speak Out that will notify a school administrator and/or police authorities immediately. Speak Up, Speak Out! Speak Up, Speak Out is managed by the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of School Safety.
You may make a report by visiting the website, using your smartphone by downloading the SPEAK UP, SPEAK OUT app from the Apple Store and Google Play, or by calling 1-800-MY-SUSO-1 to speak to a resource center analyst.
