Pre-K Updates
and helpful hints- Jan/ February
Helping Each Other
We greatly appreciate the partnership between parents & teachers. Here are a few things that can help streamline our processes.
- Please ensure your child's cup has their first and last name clearly written on it.
- Please make sure your child's cup is full of water when coming to school. We can gladly refill it at snack, lunch and outdoor play times if needed.
- Please remember that jewelry and gum are not allowed at The Learning Cottage for safety reasons (If a child comes to school with jewelry it will be sent to the front desk)
- Please remember that rules stay the same when picking up your child. (walking feet, children must stay with their safe adult etc.)
Toys From Home
In the past we have allowed children to bring a small transitional item from home that is allowed to stay in their backpacks. Unfortunately, this is becoming a great distraction. We have spoken to the children about it and they understand that if toys come to school, they will wait for them at the front desk.
This does NOT include their nap time "lovie".
- Lovies should fit in their backpack. Again, children do know this rule. Feel free to use me as the bad guy in this one ( he he ).
Lunches
Please do your very best to serve whole foods to your child for lunch.
Not allowed at The Learning Cottage
- Sugery Snacks
- Pre Packaged Lunches such as Lunchables
Snacks and Lunches should act as fuel to your child's brain and body; and helps them in regulating feelings, energy levels and general health.
