Nuevas Fronteras Spanish Immersion 2nd grade with Sra. O-R

Learning plans for the week of April 27, 2015

Dearest families,

Reading:

This next week, the kids will read El Viaje de los Dinosaurios by Laurie Krasny Brown and Marc Brown is a silly (fictional) story about traveling. I'm complimenting this fictional text with some informational reading about real dinosaurs as well.

Math:

Some of the kids are studying fractions.

I will attempt to send home the daily lessons each day. Please re-go over the lesson at home to help reinforce any confusion. It should be relatively straight forward, even if your first language isn't Spanish.

Writing:

The kids are working on writing real letters. Thanks for some stamps! I'd welcome another book or two-- we'll be starting to put our letters in the mail this week.

$3

Thanks again to Kelly Bauman and Jim Rowell for working so hard on our class' project for the Fiesta Auction. It looks awesome.

If you haven't yet sent in $3 to help defray the cost of this project, please consider sending it to school with your child.

Homework for the week

HOMEWORK- 20 minutes each night (sometimes life happens!)

Please add MAP math (on the school website) into your homework routine in these weeks preceding our MAP tests.

Reading in English or Spanish

Practicing Spelling words

Please consider taking this 3 question survey about the Spellingcity website

I'm curious to gauge how useful this site is to everyone. I've heard from a few families that have been struggling to use the site, and I wonder how widespread this issue is!
