Week of April 26

OVMS Students and families,

MONDAY, April 26, Orchard View Schools will be Remote Learning.

TUESDAY, April 27, students should expect to return to school for face-to-face instruction.

A note from Orchard View Schools:

"After reviewing the data from this week, we do see a downward trend in close contacts and positive cases in the Orchard View community. Therefore, we plan to return to face-to-face learning on Tuesday, April 27th in all buildings.

We want to take this opportunity to thank our community and our staff for adapting to remote learning this past week. We truly appreciate the flexibility and support that make these shifts successful.

As always, we will continue to watch our numbers closely, and will respond appropriately to ensure our schools are the safest places to learn."

be nice.

The be nice team meets with Ms. Nastase and Ms. Bragington every month during lunch.

It is important that ALL students feel welcome and accepted when they go to school. The Be Nice team has put together a campaign to ensure that OVMS kids have student and adult advocates in every corner of the school.

We are very proud of our young people! If you need support or are in need of a friend, do not hesitate to see Ms. Nastase or Ms. Bragington. They will make sure you are connected to existing healthy peer groups and support networks.

Cardinal Cards and Rewards

Teachers will give you Cardinal Cards when you do something well. For example, a teacher may decide that every student that made it to class on time might get a Card, or maybe every student that passes a quiz might get a Card.

You might even be rewarded in the hallways for doing things like keeping your masks up and walking straight to class. When teachers see examples of our PRIDE expectations in action, they will address it by handing you a Cardinal Card.

Your teachers will hand you the white copy of the card. The yellow carbon copy will be kept by your teacher, and at some point that day, it will end up in your grade-level bin.

You can find the bin in the main hallway by the art room.

Virtual Students:

Students passing all three of their classes and on pace will automatically get a Cardinal Card for every day they are caught up. Ms. Nastase and Mr. Smith will do these drawings and deliver prizes.

Boys and Girls Club

COVID has Boys and Girls Club limited to very small numbers, but site director, Lizzy Doezema, constantly finds new ways to engage kids after school! If you have questions about Boys and Girls Club:
