All assistants selected will perform both roles decided upon by the Technology Specialist and Librarians. The deadline is August 25th, 2023. There are limited spots available! April 5th & 12th Virtual Learning Days for 9th, 10th, and 12th graders
As you may know, state testing is an important part of our academic school year at NNHS. In order to provide an optimal testing environment for all of our juniors, all 9th, 10th, and 12th graders will be doing virtual learning on April 5th and April 12th.
April 5th will be the State History & Science test for ALL Juniors and any Senior who did not take the test last year! April 12th will be the SAT test for Juniors and any Seniors who did not take the test last year. The SAT test is a required state exam and can serve as a college entrance exam for students.
Please note that the virtual learning day will not impact the quality of instruction that your child will receive. We have carefully planned engaging and meaningful activities for virtual learners that will align with their regular curriculum. Teachers will assign lessons in Canvas for each of their classes for 9th, 10th, and 12th graders on April 5th and April 12.
Additionally, 9th, 10th, and 12th graders will need to sign into Canvas to be marked present for each day and complete the attendance form. If a student has any internet connectivity problems, a parent may call in to the school for attendance.
If students would prefer to work on their virtual learning lessons at school, they may report to the MPR Classroom where content area teachers can provide support to the students.
Lunch will be available in the cafeteria on both days. Students who are testing must sign up for a meal on April 5th through their testing coordinator. Transportation will run as usual on both days.
We understand that virtual learning may present challenges for some families, and we are committed to working with you to ensure that your child has access to the resources and support they need to succeed. If you have any concerns or questions about the virtual day, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or our school administration team.
Our CREW students will attend school as usual on these days.
Thank you for your continued support as we navigate a successful academic learning day and conduct required state testing for all of our 11th graders. We are confident that with your partnership, we can provide a successful testing & learning experiences for all students.

Special olympic volunteer opportunities
Students at Norman North have always been excellent volunteers for the Boomer Sooner Area Special Olympics and I would like to invite their participation this year. If it is possible to make announcements, that would be most helpful. Students do receive hours for this and several of the clubs and organizations have sent groups in the past. I am providing the information they need, in the past I had them write their name on a sign-up sheet in my office. Since I am no longer there, I am asking that a signup sheet be available at the front desk and I can pick it up or it can be sent to me.
Boomer Sooner Special Olympics is offering three competitions. Cornhole will be March 25 at WestMoore High School, Track & Field will be April 1 at Norman High and Bocce will be April 15 at Norman North. We ask volunteers to arrive at 8 am for training and plan to stay for the whole event which usually finishes in early afternoon. Volunteering for these activities is both rewarding and fun. We encourage groups and organizations to participate. Those who are interested need to complete the application found at Home - Special Olympics Oklahoma IF volunteers are coming as a group, they complete the Group Application. If they are volunteering as individuals, they will use the Class B application.
In order for Special Olympics to be a wonderful opportunity for the athletes, we need the help of many volunteers. My phone number is 405 413-3036 and my email is pcmichaud@sbcglobal.net if they have questions. I hope to see our Timberwolves continue their tradition of helping us. They may choose the dates and events they wish to volunteer, we just need to keep a record of that.
Sincerely,
Phyllis Michaud

Congratulations 23-24 DEN Chairs!

PROM is coming!
Prom is quickly approaching! Tickets will be sold in the commons beginning Monday April 17th during lunch as well as before and after school. Tickets will be $20 and we'll have a limited number of t-shirts available to purchase on a first come first serve basis. You must be in good standing with the school in order to purchase a ticket, meaning you have no fees or overdue books checked out. We'll have a list of those able to purchase tickets. If you have someone you'd like to bring to prom who attends a different school, then you will need to have them fill out a form. This form will need to be signed by their parents, the principal of their school, and the principal of our school. To acquire a form, stop by the prom ticket booth in the commons.
If you're in need of a dress for prom we've got you covered! To sign up for a time to look through our available options, or jump straight into trying on some dresses, simply email rmcaffrey@normanps.org. We don't have a ton of options so get scheduled before we run out! Additionally, if you have any dresses you would like to donate to our prom closet, then email either adickey@normanps.org or rmcaffrey@normanps.org.
