Spotlight Teacher: Sara Criger
Sara has found a way to reach out to parents in a quick, efficient way in this 21st Century. She has started Digital Newsletters! She now does a 1-3 minute video recapping the week and giving information for things coming up in the school. She posts them through e-mail, facebook, and twitter. Check it out below and try it out in your classroom!
Criger's Kindergarten Class Nesletter 4-1-16
Check out this web-based game (yes, it is in a game format) for students to play to help them learn math concepts!
Prodigy - Free Math Game
It is Personalized
Students get to create their own wizard and give it a name as their character for their game.
It is Engaging
Students get to compete against other students in the game and can even be their own classmates! They have to answer a math problem correctly in order to cast a spell on their opponent to help them win the match. The math problems are adaptive and provide hints if needed and even a digital whiteboard for them to help them solve it.
It Provides Data to Teachers
After teachers set up their class, they can start to receive feedback on how their students are performing on specific standards. They can then assign problems based on skills to students to help them improve in certain areas.
