OGHS Media Center
What you should know to get the year started!
Students Using the Media Center
Media Passes
Students are allowed to come to the Media Center during class time, with a Media Pass. These are purple passes that will let us know who is coming, how long you have given them to work, what they should be doing and will also have your signature. Students that come to the Media Center without a pass will be sent back to class. If you run out of Media Passes, please contact the Media Center and we will be happy to send you more.
Media Center Hours
The Media Center will be open at 7:15 am each morning. Most afternoons we will be open until 4:00pm. There will be a schedule of hours posted on the door of the Media Center with the schedule for each month.
Student Printing
Students may come to the Media Center to print before school, during lunch and after school without a Media Pass. If they need to print documents for your class during the school day, they will need a Media Pass signed by a teacher. Students will only be allowed to print in Black and White.
Student Email vs Powerschool Login
- If you have a student who is having difficulty logging into the Chromebook or their email, please send them to the Media Center and we can assist them with their passwords.
- If you have a student who is having difficulty logging into Rapid Identity you can access their username (student ID #) and their password through your Rapid Identity account or you can send them to the Media Center and we can assist them. If you need assistance locating this information, please let Ms. Duggins know.
Student Chromebooks
Chromebook Issues?
Do you have students that are having issues with their Chromebooks? Are their Chromebooks being EVIL? Send those students down to the OGHS Media Center to complete a Chromebook Repair form. This helps us track issues and make repairs in a timely manner.
Did your student forget their Chromebook?
If a student forgets their Chromebook we have a limited number available for students to borrow during the day. These devices are due back to the Media Center at the end of the school day. We DO NOT have chargers for students to borrow.
If a student needs to borrow a Chromebook during the day, please send them to the Media Center.
Media Center Resources
Laminating
Yes, we do have a laminator. If you have items to be laminated, please send them down to the Media Center with a sticky note or something that has your name on it so we can return it to the correct person.
Poster Maker
We do have a Poster Maker at OGHS. We have a limited supply of materials to create posters. Please email documents to the Media Staff to have printed.
Guidelines for Printing:
- Please do not make the background of the file a color. (White backgrounds print best)
- Please send the file as a PDF (if possible)
- If it is a sign that could be created by students, please do not send to have printed. (ex: Spirit Week, Club Events, Club Fundraisers, etc.)
- Posters should be items that will be used over and over (multiple years)
- Size Posters available - 1/2 (16'' x 24'') and Full (24'' x 30'')
- Please let us know if the posters need to be laminated
OGHS Website and Social Media
We want to share with the community, parents, and students what AMAZING things are happening here at Oak Grove High School and to do that we need your help! Please let us know when something is happening in your classrooms and someone from the Media Center will stop by and take pictures or you can send pictures to the Media Center.
