A MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR..........
Principals,
As we come to the close of the last week of a very productive academic school year with our staff and scholars, please ensure the following:
- review the safety plans for the last days of schools to facilitate a safe dismissal process that accounts for each and every student, especially at the elementary campuses
- conduct final June Fire drills
- approve teacher PD plans and effective teacher checkout procedures
Kudos to Sandi Massey, Thomas Jefferson, Principal and staff for outstanding growth on the preliminary EOC STAAR results. We look forward to seeing the success of all our campuses as STAAR data is released.

PRINCIPLES OF LEARNING
For the month of May, our feeder will focus on RECOGNITION OF ACCOMPLISHMENT as our FIFTH principle.
RECOGNITION OF ACCOMPLISHMENT
If we expect students to put forth and sustain high levels of effort, then we must motivate them by recognizing their accomplishments regularly. Clear recognition of authentic accomplishment is a hallmark of an effort-based school. This recognition can take the form of celebrations of work that meets standards or intermediate progress benchmarks In route to the standards. Progress points are articulated so that, regardless of entering performance level, every student can meet real accomplishment criteria often enough to be recognized frequently. Recognition of accomplishment can be tied to opportunities to participate in events that matter to students and their families.

THOMAS JEFFERSON COLLEGIATE CORNER
Although the end of the school year is rapidly approaching, it doesn't stop the student achievement at TJ-PTECH ECHS. This past Saturday was the second Super Saturday TSI Camp where 92 students were exposed to TSI strategies and the high school collegiate life style. Several freshmen volunteered to mentor and helped the camp run smoothly.
ECHS students also celebrated the end of a successful school year with our industry partners NBC & Telemundo, where representatives encouraged the students with positive words of affirmation by Steve Jobs. Students received a special hand-made gift from the partners---a cookie donning the NBC/Telemundo logos.
