Soliciting Feedback
Believe it or not, we are already planning for the 22-23 school year and we want your input. Periodically throughout the remainder of the year, we will provide a quick two-question survey to gather your input about a variety of topics. The first question will typically be a multiple choice question and the second will be an open-ended question to provide more detail, if you so choose. The surveys are anonymous and optional.
At Glacier Ridge, we make thoughtful and purposeful decisions that put the needs of students in the forefront. We value input from all our stakeholders, students, families, staff, and community alike. It is impossible to cater to everyone’s preferences, but we certainly do try.
As you answer these questions, consider both positive and constructive feedback. Our brains focus 20 times more on the negative, which can often motivate the need for providing feedback. However, it is also important to identify successes and what is working to continue and improve on those aspects. Therefore, thank you in advance for your thoughtful input. This week’s survey about Bloomz is below.
Have a great weekend,

2 Question Survey: Bloomz
Background Information: Our goal is to provide consistent forms of communication from the classroom throughout the school. In addition, we use Bloomz to provide a glimpse of instruction into the classroom so you can engage in learning and school conversations with your child at home. Bloomz does cost money that is partially funded by the PTO (about $5 per student), which is why we want to determine its effectiveness.

GRE ANNOUNCEMENTS
Book Drive Thank You’s
Thank you to the students, families, and community for a successful book drive. We collected over 1,200 books to donate to a low income school in Ohio. Their students will be extremely grateful and excited to see the many new books they will receive.
Student Profile Form - Due April 1
Please take the time to read the GRE STUDENT PROFILE FORM carefully in its entirety.
This is the time of the year when parents and teachers begin to think about what is ahead for our students in the 2022-2023 school year. The teachers of your child’s present grade level, the guidance counselor, support staff, and the principals will collaborate to form next year’s classes. Please complete this form if you would like to give input into your child’s learning needs. This form is optional.
WHAT TO INCLUDE: Include any pertinent information regarding your child’s LEARNING NEEDS and the characteristics of the kind of CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENT that will support her/his success. You may also include any STUDENT RELATIONSHIPS that may positively or negatively affect your child’s learning.
WHAT NOT TO INCLUDE: Please do not request a specific teacher. Due to the complexity of the classroom placement procedure, we will not honor a parent request for a specific teacher. Please do not ask current teachers to comment on the teachers in the next grade level.
Decisions about your child’s classroom placement are made in collaboration with other colleagues and depend upon many social, emotional, and academic considerations. We believe this procedure will create balanced, educationally sound class groups that will ultimately benefit all of our students. The important information you provide will assist the team in determining the best classroom placement for your child. Please DO NOT discuss next year’s placement with your child’s current teacher. Please DO NOT request a specific teacher by name.
This form is due by Friday, April 1, 2022. We will NOT accept any forms after the deadline.
