WHPS Board of Education Proposes an Important Educational Equity Policy
The concept of equity can mean different things to different people. We want to ensure that messages are accessible and clear. The people the policy is designed to serve are in the best position to shape the policy and evaluate whether it is succeeding. We need your voice and support to build an equitable community. Be sure to raise any questions that you may have.

How can I view the Board Meeting?
WH Community Interactive (WHC-i) offers free viewing. You can watch Board meetings through WHC-i programming either on TV or on the internet - you can also use your favorite mobile device.

- COMCAST CABLE TV: Channel 5 - Public access and live Board of Education meetings.

Are Board meetings provide Closed Captioning?
Yes. Some devices require users to enable their closed captioning feature.
Is there language translation of Board Meetings?
Board meetings are in English, but public commenters may request language translation by contacting the Director of Equity Advancement by email at roszena_haskins@whps.org in advance.
How do I sign up to make a Board Meeting Public Comment?
If you would like to make a public comment, please sign up here. Members will be called by name in the order in which they have signed up to speak.
How do I call in to the Board Meeting to give a public comment?
Call into the meeting prior to the start of the meeting and remain on mute until the Board chair calls on you. You can hit *6 to unmute and speak.
How much time will I have to speak?
Each member of the public wishing to speak may address the Board for three minutes at the beginning and three minutes at the end of each meeting for a total of six minutes. A maximum of twenty-one minutes shall be allowed to the Educational Equity Draft Policy.
When will I get a response to my Board Meeting Public Comment?
While the Board will not respond to comments made in public session, it will consider such comments in its policy deliberations and, where appropriate. The district will offer ongoing opportunities for two-way engagement about the policy once it has been adopted.
How can I share my reactions to and feedback about the draft policy?

What happens after the policy is adopted?
The adopted Educational Policy will be used to shape the WHPS District and School Improvement Plans including establishing metrics to evaluate progress and strategies for public transparency. The district will continue to work with parents/caregivers, educators, students and community partners to engage in learning more about the policy and providing feedback to inform the District Improvement Plan.
