Swansboro High School
January 20, 2019 Weekly Updates
Happy Sunday Pirate Families!
Last week was another great week on the books at Swansboro High School. A special congratulations to Sarah Campbell for making the Eastern Region/All State Orchestra on the bass. Kudos also to our JV and Varsity coaches and cheerleaders who had an outstanding performance yesterday at their conference competition. Congratulations to our swim team for their first place victory on Wednesday and our winter track students who will move on to the state competition in February. They include Jamel Abalos, Justin Biggs, Callie Davis, Reagan Moore, Isabel Robayo and Jasmine Sherman.
This week in athletics will include track and basketball at home, wrestling at Havelock and the coastal conference swim meet on Wednesday. Our basketball teams will travel to White Oak next Friday and our wrestlers will compete in the conference tournament at West Carteret next Saturday.
The All County Band concert will be hosted next Saturday at 3:30 pm at Jacksonville High School. Don't miss this free concert by the top performers in Onslow County Schools. Please remember that tomorrow is the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday which means no school for students. A special thank you to everyone who purchased Project Graduation Reverse Raffle tickets. They sold out quickly! We typically sell high roller tickets on the night of the raffle for $250 for a separate $9500 jackpot. There are only 75 of those tickets as opposed to the regular 200 raffle tickets that have been sold for $150. We will make an exception this year and sell those $250 tickets in advance to secure your invitation to the event. Please contact Felicia Hill in our front office if you are interested in a high roller ticket.
Thank you to everyone who donated hot chocolate for our teachers in early December. They have really enjoyed this morning treat. We have run out of hot chocolate and would love to replenish the supply to get us through the cold months. This would be a great time to send in hot chocolate if you did not get a chance in December. Thank you for supporting our teachers and staff!
